Advertising and Sponsored Content Policy
Tech Capital News separates paid placement from independent journalism and labels paid material clearly.
What counts as sponsored content
Sponsored content is material for which the publisher receives compensation—directly or indirectly—for creation, placement, or distribution. That includes paid articles, advertorials, and similar commercial placements published on Tech Capital News.
Required labels
Sponsored posts must show a content-type badge (for example “Sponsored Content”) and a visible disclosure banner stating that the publisher received compensation for the content. The disclosure must be clear to an ordinary reader without requiring inspection of page source or metadata alone.
Press releases and company announcements use their own labels and banners. Those labels are not substitutes for sponsorship disclosure when compensation is involved.
Publication gates
The editorial workflow blocks publication of sponsored content that lacks a sponsorship record or a visible sponsorship disclosure. Editors or administrators must approve sponsored content before it goes live.
Structured data
Sponsored content must never use NewsArticle schema markup. Paid placement is represented with generic Article structured data (or equivalent non-NewsArticle typing) and includes sponsorship context in metadata where structured data is emitted. Independent reporting may use NewsArticle where appropriate; sponsored posts do not.
Independence
Sponsors do not control the conclusions of independent articles. Accepting a sponsorship does not entitle a sponsor to alter unrelated news coverage. Conflicts that cannot be managed through labeling and process should result in declining the placement.
